My career has spanned 27 years in financial services, managing capital, building businesses, and learning the hard way that professional success and personal meaning are not the same thing.

The shift came gradually, then all at once. A growing pull toward the outdoors. Longer hikes. Higher mountains. And eventually, a plane to Tanzania and a climb that changed everything.

On Kilimanjaro I met Zidane Juma, one of the finest guides on the mountain and a man with a vision that was impossible to ignore. His dream was simple: to build a climbing company that treated its guides and porters the way they deserved to be treated, paid them fairly, and gave something real back to the community that surrounds this extraordinary mountain.

That conversation became a partnership. Vertical Sky was born.

I bring to this company everything I know about building something that lasts, rigorous standards, transparent operations, and an absolute refusal to cut corners where people's livelihoods and safety are concerned. What Zidane brings is the mountain, the community, and twenty years of earned trust on Kilimanjaro's trails.
